I'm Jess, owner of Trellis & Twine.

I've always loved flowers and gardening, but only recently had a garden of my own to look after. And almost as soon as I set spade to earth, I was hooked on growing flowers for cutting.

I'm still working from just my own domestic garden, which is now stuffed to bursting with the plants that make their way into our arrangements - from tulips in the spring to the abundance of sweet peas, larkspur and sunflowers in summer, right through to lovely dahlias and rudbeckia in the autumn.

I use the most environmentally sustainable growing methods possible: no chemicals and pesticides (with the occasional exception of organically certified slug pellets that don’t harm bird populations), reducing and reusing plastics and using rainwater as much as possible. I don’t use plastic packaging and always seek out peat-free growing mediums.

As our growing area is very small (if you have land locally that’s going spare you’d like to see used for cut flower production please get in touch!) I occasionally need to buy in blooms from elsewhere, especially for weddings and events. My priority is always to buy from other British growers via my fellow Flowers from the Farm members. If I need to order in flowers externally for your event I’ll aim to discuss this with you when you place your order.
